About Me
I'm a collectivist UX Designer & UX Researcher striving to find the perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality for all. My experience as a medical and lab assistant throughout a pandemic not only strengthened my ability to empathize with users, but also developed my teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills. Thanks to my experience in healthcare, I’m proficient in remaining objective and logical while practicing empathy and compassion.
My Journey to UX
My passion for helping others initially sparked my desire to pursue healthcare. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2020 with a bachelor’s in Health Science, worked as a medical and lab assistant for two years, and prepared my applications for physician assistant school.
I noticed one constant despite working in a naturally unpredictable and volatile work environment amidst a pandemic: healthcare workers and patients alike expressed dissatisfaction with the software systems in place. From cluttered UI to unintuitive user flows, the software systems only promoted frustration and wasted time. This observation introduced me to the world of user experience, where I quickly fell in love.
I took a leap of faith, completely upended my prospective career path, then enrolled and graduated from a user experience bootcamp. Since then I’ve worked on multiple projects and continued to hone my craft. Although I greatly enjoyed my experience in healthcare, I couldn’t help but feel dissatisfied with the lack of use for my creativity. User experience allows me to leverage my analytical and objective mindset with my empathetic and creative nature to continue my passion for helping others.
